Call for contributions

The Students’ Association are asking students to contribute a variety of work on the suggested theme of ‘Peace’. The donated art works are not exclusive to the following suggestions, but will include:
Photography prints (framed and unframed)
Clay models and busts
Applied arts
Embroidery
Screen prints
Posters
Fine arts
Jewellery
Furniture
3D model making
Digital pieces (which can be exhibited on campus via slideshow, purchased from Wix website and sent to the buyer via email addresses)
Crafts
Textiles
The theme is a suggestion but is encouraged to be open to interpretation. Peace can be an abstract photograph of clouds, an abstract painting of different colours and shapes – we will leave this in the hands of individual students and staff.
Students do not have to create new art-work from scratch, although they are welcome to if they have time over the spring break. Previous artworks and pieces are welcomed!
We are encouraging work from Creative Industries students – however this opportunity is open to all students across all faculties.
How to contribute artwork:
Students can contribute work intended to be sold digitally to citysa@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk so it can be placed on the website for display.
Physical contributions (e.g print out’s, screenprints, sculptures) will be handed in to the Students’ Association spaces at City and Riverside Campuses between 18th – 22nd April 2022.
We are asking all students who contribute to:
-    Fill out this form to provide details of their submission: https://forms.gle/CEpr6BPLgtwgZgee7
-    To hand their work into the Students’ Association spaces at City or Riverside Campuses
-    To provide us with details if they wish their work to also be displayed digitally.
If students wish to purchase new materials, create new work and/or frame work, we would suggest students spend a maximum amount between £5-£10 as we recognise this is a charitable drive.
The exhibition will take place at City Campus on Thursday 28th April, from 10am-2pm. This will be promoted across the college prior to the event, and is organised by staff in the Students’ Association and student volunteers who will help out during this event.
